Hey all I just got back from Jazz Band. And I was in such a good mood that I decided to record some sound clips. Well I am still doing the Claude Gordon studies and my control in the upper register has become so much easier. I am on chapter 8. I will probably end up spending 2 weeks on it. The studies are very time consuming. About 4-5 hours a day. I hardly have time to do my concert or jazz band pieces. Oh just to let you know. Yesterday I got the news that I am officially 1st chair in the county. My freshman year. So this is pretty cool. I guess now I just got to get better until I'm good enough for states. Oh and a bunch of other stuff like the jazz band tour is going to start and I will probably not have time to truly update the site any time soon. Two cool trumpet songs we are playing for jazz band are Mcarthur Park and Birdland I will try to get them up on the site.

Today I started lesson 6. WoW time goes by fast. I am not enjoying the lessons. It is not fun. It is a lot of hard work and the different studies take up allot of time. But I am seeing results. So although it is a lot of hard work, I am seeing some results. Today I went to see the Navy Jazz Commodores Band. It was awesome. What a trumpet section. They had a little concert for us. Then we got to go to clinics with our section. John Blount was just awesome. We talked a little. I might have to start lessons with him since he is in the Baltimore area. So that is that for that. Oh and Wednesday is my all county audition. I saw everyone that is trying out. I am guessing that I will probably get 1st of 2nd chair. I am practicing like crazy. What a fun day it was today. Well hopefully I'll update these pages soon.
